Top Three...Paneers

Darbar

We came across this hidden gem a couple of years ago while wandering around the Tourist Club and what a discovery it was! We recommend enjoying dollops of creamy palak paneer served with their legendary garlic naan … our mouth waters just thinking about it. The palak paneer costs AED 12 and the garlic naan is AED 5, disproving the theory that you get what you pay for. Contact: 02 645 2221

Tandoori Corner

This budget curry-house located in Al Wahda has an excellent range of paneers. Choose from palak paneer, paneer tikka masala, mattar paneer, kadhai paneer or the handi paneer. We love a generous side of the handi paneer in yogurt-based gravy. Yum! Contact: 02 445 8686

Indigo

If you feel like feasting on Indian food in a more romantic setting, look no further than the Beach Rotana’s Indigo restaurant. Enjoy your paneer in this stylish, relaxed restaurant as candles flicker around you. Our favourite dish - the paneer tikka masala - is made from anari cheese simmered in a juicy tomato masala sauce and is served with steamed basmati rice. Contact: 02 697 9334
