Top Three...Off-island takeaways

Sumo Sushi

Have you made the trip out to Masdar City yet? It’s definitely worth it, if only to visit Sumo Sushi and Bento. We just love the maki roll combo – neat, tight rolls of fermented rice, surimi, fish roe, crisp cucumber and avocado, all wrapped up in nori seaweed.

Zari Zardozi

Located in Al Raha Mall, Zari Zardozi is an Indian restaurant that tries to be a little different. As long as you avoid the slightly weird ‘tandushi’ (a kind of tandoori sushi) then everything else on the menu is simply delicious – we heartily recommend the excellent chicken jalfrezi and the exquisite Goan fish curry. Jones the Grocer

With a number of outlets in the city, Jones the Grocer also has a shop off the island in Al Raha Gardens. Although it doesn’t deliver, you can ring your order in and collect it yourself, which is more than enough for us to include it in this list. Forget McDonalds or Burger King, if you’re looking for a tasty meaty treat then you just can’t beat the Jones Wagyu burger.
