Bloomsbury’s

Healthy cupcakes? It’s true! Kind of… New cupcake kids on the block, Bloomsbury’s, has 32 varieties of delicious cake and frosting combos; and one of them is a Diabetic Dream come true. With a GI of 53 this is a delicious carrot sponge topped with cream cheese frosting sweetened with Agave nectar. Bloomsbury’s is at Al Wahda Mall and will soon be found at Mushriff Mall.

Edible Arrangements

If you feel like snacking while wandering around Khalidiya Mall or Mushriff Mall, you could do a lot worse than nipping over to Edible Arrangements and grabbing a cute little box of berries or a fruit lollipop. OK, so the chocolate dipped items may not be exactly healthy but with all of the other tasty looking fruity treats we don’t think you’ll be too tempted.

Kitsch cupcakes

More cupcakes, but we can’t resist. Over at Souk Central Market Kitsch cupcakes are definitely the treat of choice. They have The Skinny, a vanilla sponge with cream cheese icing that is both low fat and low sugar, and is approved by Health Factory. They also have the Chick Friendly, a cupcake made without eggs and so suitable for those with allergies.
