Top Five ... places to go for a walk in Abu Dhabi

The weather is (finally!) just about perfect to go for a walk. Check out favourite streets around the capital for a stroll

1: The Corniche: Sure, we all know the beautifully landscaped boulevard that stretches from the Hilton to the port, but the Corniche also runs the length of the waterfront along 8th/Salam Street and 30th/Khaleej al Arabi.

2: Etihad Road: Or whatever everyone is currently calling that road out in Khalifa City A that runs between Al Raha Gardens and Etihad Plaza. Boasting one of the few sidewalks in all of KCA, this road affords a nice long stretch where you can walk safely.

3: Delma/13th Street: And any of those residential streets in the middle of town, especially in the area around the palaces, the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club and on down to the Abu Dhabi City Golf Club and Abu Dhabi Country Club – plenty of sidewalk, not too much traffic and lots of shade.

4: Central Market: A great place to have a slow stroll and browse the new shops, you’ll find the recently reopened souk style market in the city block behind 2nd/Airport Road between 3rd/Khalifa Street and 5th/Hamdan Street.

5: Yas Marina Circuit: Now that the Formula 1 is over, the track will once again open to walkers every Tuesday 6pm to 8pm starting 30th November. Children and adults are welcome to walk, bike or roller blade 5.55km under the lights. Entrance is at the Support Pit Grandstand.
