Top five … tastes of Thai

The capital is awash with tantalising tasty Thai. Whether you’re looking for fusion food, the best in noodles or a scintillatingly spicy soup, Abu Dhabi Week picks our favourite spots …

Noodle House
On vistas alone, the Souk Qaryat Al Beri spot wins, with stunning views across the water to Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. But whether you choose to dine at the Souk or over in Al Wahda Mall, the service and the menu are most certainly on par. For perfect noodles – it’s got to be Noodle House.
Cost: Approximately AED 175 per person

BamBu!
Its unusual location and even more unusual décor make BamBu! a less than obvious favourite, but one glance of the menu and you’ll see why. This downtown spot serves up a spicy selection of Thai staples, all wonderfully well priced.
Cost: AED 250 will feed two generously

Noodle Box
Perhaps the chicest on the list, Noodle Box at The Yas Hotel offers a superb menu, excellent service, and trademark views of the Yas Marina Circuit. Dine indoors with sumptuous dishes perfect for sharing, before taking your green tea out to the terrace.
Cost: Approximately AED 400 for two

Zyang Asian Grill
This lively Marina Mall eatery serves up generous portions of Asian fare – without burning a hole in your pocket. Watch the action take place as chef’s work their magic over woks in the open plan kitchen and make the most of a DIY menu option for fuss free food.
Cost: Around AED 150 for two

Cho Gao
Abu Dhabi Week quickly became loyal fans of Cho Gao when it opened its doors at Crowne Plaza on Hamdan Street. With great décor that reaffirms the cuisine type and slick, unobtrusive service, there’s only one thing that outshines both – and that’s the food. Go hungry – portions are anything other than modest.
Cost: Approximately AED 200 for two
