Five child-friendly Friday brunches

There is no shortage of Friday brunches in this town, but where can you go with your young family
in tow? We’ve found the five best options.

1. Rosebud’s at the Beach Rotana on 10th Street: Not only does Rosebud’s host perhaps the most extensive Friday brunch in town, its kids’ corner is excellent. With videos, face painting, clowns, and a separated buffet just for them, the young ones will be so happy that you can enjoy yourself too.

2. Sevilla at Al Raha Beach Hotel on Highway E11: With a friendly live band and a gorgeous view, this brunch is one to please. Follow your meal with a trip downstairs where kids can play outside or ride the pony.

3. Arabesque at the Intercontinental Hotel in Al Ain: Don’t let the name fool you — this buffet has all types of foods both you and your children will enjoy. Even better, kids can enjoy popcorn and playing in the back garden with clown-made balloon animals while you watch from inside and listen to the band.

4. La Brasserie at Le Meridien on 10th Street: This fantastic family brunch has a bouncy castle on the lawn. And if you’re not so much into the buffet, you have your choice of several other spots to eat outside while your kids play, including Captain’s Arms, NRG, Pappagallo, and Chi Chi’s.

5. Flavours at the Sheraton on the Corniche: Ok, it’s nearly impossible to get to, but if you can negotiate the occasionally bizarre roadworks, Flavours is worth the effort. Apart from the great food, the Sheraton doesn’t offer a whole lot to children apart from a TV and DVDs; but the price is reasonable and includes all the fizz you want... No better way to spend a Friday afternoon.
