Indestructible nails
So what’s the deal?
If you’re as hard on your nails as we are, you need a manicure and pedicure that can stand up to the worst sort of abuse and look fabulous at the same time. We found both at Corpofino Spa and Slimming Centre.
We started with an OPI Axxium Gel Lacquer manicure which promises the long lasting colour of extensions without the damage you sometimes get with acrylics.
Like a standard manicure, the procedure began with a good cleaning of our cuticles and shaping of our nails. To ensure proper adhesion, our technician roughed up the top layer of our nails just a bit and then applied the gel lacquer which brushes on very like nail polish.
Unlike regular polish, however, this process uses an ultraviolet light to dry the gel and keep it hard, which means these nails are completely dry by the time you go – no blowing or hand wringing required.
While we had the gel manicure, another technician worked on our feet. They call these nail enhancements Minx because these colours and designs are nothing less than saucy.
Essentially high tech, heat activated nail stickers, Minx nail designs come in every colour and pattern you can imagine – even metallic. Who could resist kicking off the summer with pink leopard print toes? Not THIS glamour girl.
Why go?
All 20 of our nails look perfectly fantastic and are guaranteed to survive all but the most ridiculous punishment for weeks. Even better, our newly beautiful fingertips and teensy toes are completely dry and ready to rock before we even get to the car.
And why not?
We’re not going to lie – applying those Minx designs is ever so slightly painful, but the results are completely and totally worth it. Also, while it takes a couple of hours to complete the process, it’s time well spent as you won’t have to get back to the salon quite so quickly.
