Ask any female worthy of her beauty credentials and she’ll tell you she knows of the Tips and Toes nail salon in Marina Mall. Reputable for their experienced staff and valuable varnishing skills, it’s arguably one of the best nail bars in town.
What many people don’t know however is that their skills don’t end there. Situated on Khaleej Al Arabi Street, Tips and Toes Luxury Day Spa offers all the regular nail treatments alongside a whole host of extra indulgent pampering services.
Feeling particularly sore and aching from a day hunched over my computer, I popped by the spa for some much needed massaging – and of course, the obligatory manicure and pedicure. There simply aren’t enough words to say just how good my massage was. Settling down for a Full Body Swedish Massage, my masseur Michelle worked and pummelled life back into my knotted up neck, back and shoulders.
Tip to toes is precisely the name of the game and Michelle worked on every part of my body, easing out the tension and stress in my muscles. With each satisfying click and pop, my body was rubbed, stretched and pressed as Michelle pinpointed my problem areas with an accurate skill.
As the session came to an end I was invited to sit and relax with a few simple yoga positions, taking a few deep breaths and exhaling with a couple of gentler, finishing stretches.
As I left the massage suite, I was impressed with the instant lightness and relief in my body – I felt rejuvenated and relaxed, the perfect antidote to a long and arduous day.
I headed for a wash and blow-dry next, not least because the massage had left my hair looking a little less desirable from the firm touch of Michelle’s hands. Wanting to fit in a manicure and pedicure too I’m offered the perfect solution – I can do all at once. As several beauticians swarm around me, my hair, hands and feet are attended to.
The blow-dry is a lovely, fuss-free affair, and the friendly beautician gives me exactly what I ask for – a rarity I’ve found when some people are handed the hair dryer and total control over my locks. As I sip green tea my nails are given a thorough workover – the foot scrub alone lasts a good ten minutes, ensuring perfectly smooth heels. Several hours later, I leave feeling completely refreshed and renewed. Tips and Toes Luxury Day Spa doesn’t just offer a service – it offers the solution for top to toe beauty, relaxation and pampering.
