The relaxation begins with a warm cloth foot wash and a few moments of aromatherapy followed by the application of an aromatic scalp and hair masque. Once in the right frame of mind, the calming, professional therapist begins the detox with cleanser, toner and spiky bamboo exfoliate. Of course, no facial is complete without a massage, and this one is heaven.

What sets the Voya experience apart from other facials is the use of organic seaweed, hand harvested in Ireland. The natural gels in the seaweed plumps and moisturises the skin, while at the same time drawing out and draining toxins. The experience ends with a layer of moisturiser and eye serum; you’ll leave with a fresh face and a take-away bag of post-facial seaweed, perfect compost for the garden.

Though my face was party-ready - sporting not one spot of redness despite the tingly, powerful cleanser – the therapist recommends clients leave the hair masque in for 24 hours to get the full benefit. Make sure to book this facial at least a day before any big event.
