So what's the deal?
Tucked away in the most nondescript of locations, Cristal Hotel takes a bit of finding if you’re not already aware of it. If you’re not yet aware of the hotel – take note; it has impeccable customer service, a really rather nice, contemporary set-up, and a thoroughly lovely spa.

While there are many different types of massage on the market, there are three simple things that ensure whichever you go for will be good: ambience, technique, and the knowledge of the therapist as applied to your requirements. Cristal has two of these covered, and the third is just a matter of the building work being completed. The calm ambience of soft music and candles, along with the fragrance from the organic oils is occasionally interupted by the odd thud and drilling session somewhere in the vicinity.

Despite the distractions, the massage is still enjoyable. Adapted to suit the tick boxes filled in on the consultation form, the pressure, pace and rhythm are matched to personal requirements – tension- and stress-relieving, aches and pain relief or just plain pampering are all catered for. And it’s wrapped up with a mini-facial to finish – bliss.

Why go?
Because it’s always good to be slightly surprised. Sure, Cristal Hotel may not appear to come to the level of the fancier hotels from the outside – but inside there’s all the charm and expertise you need.

Why not?
While it’s never a bad thing to have extra time spent working out those aches and pains and generally soothing the soul, be sure to mention if you have another appointment after your treatment – our therapist went well over our sceduled time. Oops!
