So what’s the deal?
It’s a bit of a mission to find your way around Yas Island, not least because of the confusing mass of construction land, an absence of helpful inhabitants and a rather long and confusing route on to the island itself. At least on finally finding The Spa, you’re expected to do nothing but relax.
Pencilled in for The Radisson Blu Rose Decadence, the top signature treatment, we’re told to expect a two hour long nurturing experience starring a host of rose-infused products. It includes a full body exfoliation, body wrap, scalp massage and firming facial.
Greeted with a cup of warm lemon, honey and ginger and a cold towel infused with lavender, we’re asked to fill out a consultation card to evaluate stress levels, as well as any skin problems.
The quick consultation confirms we’re slightly stressed and in need of a good pampering session. And it’s with this news we lie back and embrace the soothing Oriental music and heady aromas of primrose oil, Shea butter, rose and frankincense as a variety of lotions are applied to the skin.
The full-body exfoliation incorporates skin-conditioning marine extracts and olive grains. When paired with a delicate massage, this just about hits the spot. Neglected hands and feet receive a lovely mud mask before a decidedly pleasant firming facial massage. Completely de-stressed, we leave the room feeling a whole lot better about our usually neglected bodies.
Why go?
It’s a lovely treatment to round off a busy week, especially for its facial massage which left the face positively glowing and remarkably soft.
And why not?
It may not be quite impressive enough for all the work it took to get there and the expected scalp massage never happened – but we did wake up with newly polished nails.
