Need to update your look? We sure do, so we enlisted the services of AICI certified image consultant Nina Iskanker to re-evaluate our style and learn the right way to put ourselves together.

Comfortably settled at our own kitchen table, we start with an extensive consultation. Nina first has to find out all the details of our lifestyle and personality. It’s no surprise she discovers we’re super busy and don’t have a lot of time to waste each morning. We then set about determining our personal style with another thorough assessment. Nina hits the nail on the head when she says our style is natural.

A whole lot of science goes into determining which colours work together and which are best for our skin tone. After considering factors like colour, flow and shade, Nina discovers that I’m not just a summer, but a muted, deep summer. Thankfully, I get a colour wheel of my own to take with me when I go shopping.

Time to do our body and face analysis, Nina takes several measurements and lets our body’s proportions determine exactly what we need to camouflage and what we should highlight. It turns out we have the ideal oval shaped face, which means we can wear any hairstyle and make up we like.

Finally, we take a long look at our wardrobe. After removing everything that’s damaged and all the stuff that just doesn’t work, we don’t have much left (as we expected) but Nina shows us how to use what we have. A few days later, she emails us a PDF of our very own style guide, a hefty handbook full of tips, hints and examples of every style that works best on us. Armed with knowledge, we’re now ready to recreate our look and in a few days time, we’ll go shopping to get all the right stuff.
