Abu Dhabi Art is an annual platform for modern and contemporary art and design, bringing together galleries from all over the world. Now in its third year and running until 19th November, these are just some of the highlights:

• Thursday 17th: Saadiyat Seascape – landscape drawing/painting workshop. Inspired by the surrounding seascape of Saadiyat island, create a piece of art using drawing and painting on canvas. 5.30 to 7.30pm, no previous art experience necessary
• Friday 18th: Half and Half – UAE Pavilion, Manarat Al Saadiyat. Art exhibition featuring works of the three featured artists from the UAE Pavilion in Venice; Abdullah Al Saadi, Lateefa bint Maktoum and Reem Al Ghaith. 3 to 10pm
• Saturday 19th: 3D Shoe Design – Gallery Two, Manarat Al Saadiyat. Sultan Al Darmaki, the eminent Emirati shoe designer, will lead a workshop, discuss the ‘history of shoe making’ and share some of his expertise and tips in building an international fashion brand. 1.30 to 3.30pm, AED 50 per person
