Abu Dhabi’s glitterati were out in force and mingling with the stars of Western and Arab cinema last Friday 21st October at the 2011 Black Pearl awards and closing ceremony of the fifth Abu Dhabi Film Festival at Fairmont Bab Al Bahr.

Major British film talents Tilda Swinton and Rupert Friend took to the red carpet alongside stars from the GCC countries including Tareq Al Ali, Zyna Karam and Ahmed Iraj.

ADFF also highlighted the legacy of two eminent figures of film history, Ingmar Bergman’s Smiles of Summer Night and Naguib Mahfouz’s Midaq Alley by Jorge Fons.
