The Doggfather of rap, Snoop Dogg, received a roaring welcome from a crowd of 10,000 people at the Yas Arena, Yas Island, last Friday. Performing his latest hits, Snoop entertained the crowd for almost two-hours. Also on stage were the Emirati brothers who make up Desert Heat, Farid Karam Nassar, better known in the music industry as Fredwreck, Khalifa and Abdullah, Malikah, DJ Lobito, Ridim Crew, Robin, DJ Rone Jaxx and The Recipe, who were given a rousing welcome when they performed some of their own material – proving that hip hop is on the rise in the region.
