Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol

Hitting new heights

MIGhostProtocol

Director: Brad Bird,
Starring: Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner, Ving Rhames

Mission Impossible returns to the silver screen to take us to new heights this winter – the heights of the Burj Khalifa to be precise – with Tom Cruise back in excellent form as the irascible Ethan Hunt.

After the IMF is shut down (Ghost Protocol for those not in the know) and implicated in the bombing of the Kremlin, Hunt and his team are forced to go rogue. With no help from the inside, and a seemingly by the books CIA senior analyst, they find they have bigger problems than anticipated – not only are they fighting to clear their names, they must also save the world from nuclear disaster.

Directed by Brad Bird, the Pixar writer and director of animated hits The Incredibles and Ratatouille, this fourth installment breathes new life into the MI franchise – it’s pure popcorn for the brain, a straightforward action flick that doesn’t disappoint.

The non-stop action keeps you glued to your seat.

While it might not be at quite the same level as the Bourne series or even the evergreen James Bond, it’s still one of the best action thrillers we’ve seen this year.

Genre: Action | Adventure | Thriller
