Immortals

This is the latest ultra-violent, CGI-heavy Greek mythology movie to follow 300’s lead by wallowing in carnage – much better than the awful Clash Of The Titans, although that isn’t really saying much. Visually stunning, fantastically gory, but lacking in real drama, Immortals tells the story of Theseus, a peasant warrior who must protect the heavens and earth from the nefarious King Hyperion. As long as you’re not expecting much in the way of sparkling dialogue or in-depth character acting, this swords-and-sandals extravaganza is sure to keep you entertained for a couple of hours – although maybe you’d be better off waiting for the DVD.
