Although original director Richard Kelly has completely disowned this film, it is supposedly the sequel to the 2001 cult classic Donnie Darko, picking the story up seven years down the line with the youngest member of the Darko clan, Donnie’s sister. It’s just a shame everything that made the first film so good is completely missing here and what we’re left with is a callous attempt to cash in on its success. You want to know what the ‘S’ stands for? Unfortunately, it’s not anything polite.
