Casino Jack

Aces high

CasinoJack02

Director: George Hickenlooper,
Starring: Kevin Spacey, Barry Pepper, Jon Lovitz, Kelly Preston

When political lobbyist Jack Abramoff (Spacey) and resourceful businessman Michael Scanlon (Pepper) team up to exert their influence over some the biggest players in Washington DC, their bid to strike it rich pays off.

But when the profit-loving pair makes the mistake of recruiting a motor-mouthed mob flunky (Lovitz) to earn some cash under the table it all starts to go wrong.

At first the cash is rolling in, but when a deal with a seedy floating casino goes awry and word gets out that Jack and Michael have ties to the Mob, the resulting scandal turns their life of luxury into a living hell.

Part thriller, part comedy and very much a biopic, Casino Jack is a refreshing take on the usual DC political crime drama.

Kevin Spacey is back at the very top of his game in his meatiest role for years and puts in a powerhouse performance as super-lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

Definitely not one to miss!
