Megamind 3D

Brains beat brawn

megamind

Director: Tom McGrath
Starring: Will Ferrell, Jonah Hill, Brad Pitt, Ben Stiller

The brilliant and diabolical super-villain Megamind has been trying to conquer Earth for over 20 years but he is constantly being thwarted by his arch nemesis – the caped superhero Metro Man.

When Megamind accidentally kills Metro Man he suddenly finds himself without a foe to overcome and decides to create a new super rival. He’s a bigger, better and stronger opponent than Metro Man ever was but when he sets out to destroy the world the roles are reversed and the evil genius is forced to ponder the unthinkable: can he become the superhero that Metro City really needs?

In this refreshing twist on a familiar format, director Tom McGrath combines flawless 3D animation with a bevy of comedic talent to create an entertaining adventure with plenty of smart, grown-up laughs.

The film may be coming out on the heels of Despicable Me – another CG-animated film about a super-villain who just might not be so bad after all – but Megamind is a sharper, wittier and all-round better take on the idea.

It isn’t original, but it is hilariously funny. Megamind is sure to entertain everyone – young or old, good or evil.
