Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I

The long goodbye

harrypotter

Director: David Yates
Starring: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint

The evil Lord Voldemort’s power is growing stronger and he now has control over the Ministry of Magic and Hogwarts. Harry, Ron, and Hermione are forced to drop out of school to finish Dumbledore’s work and find the rest of the Horcruxes to defeat the Dark Lord. But while searching for the ancient artefacts, they uncover hidden secrets about Dumbledore’s past and it seems there is little hope left for the trio, and the rest of the wizarding world, as the final battle approaches.

It’s the beginning of the end for Harry Potter. The final film in the hugely popular adaptation of JK Rowling’s seven-book series is upon us. Well, almost. As the title suggests, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 has a Part 2 after it was decided that Rowling’s concluding book in the boy wizard saga merited two movies, which kind of leaves the viewer feeling that this is an entrée before the main course next year.

However, the millions who have grown up with these films should certainly feel that they have had their money’s worth, even if the big, decisive moments and action set pieces are still to come.

Genre: Action | Adventure | Fantasy
Age Restriction: PG-13
Runtime: 146 min

Well I am a huge fan of the Harry potter series[the books] and even though I've grown older they never seem to get boring as I always have all seven of the series on my book shelf.[excluding tales of beedle the bard and the other two books that were published] the movies on the other hand seem to have a hard time living up to the books! the first second and third part of the film series were ok but since the 4th movie they started changing the story line a lot! people who watched the movie had a completely different story about harry potter than the ones whoo read the books. some didn't even understand the story when they saw the movie's from the fourth part. They needed those who read the books to explain it to them. and they all went into shock saying "hey they left that out!" I do understand that there might be a small budget but atleast make the film according to the book if your naming it after the book! the fifth movie was a good comeback but there was no quidditch and dobby wasn't even mentioned after he has a big role in the book. the sixth movie felt like a punch in the stomach! the was no action, no drama, no fantasy, no magic, no romance, no dobby again! dissapointment. I hope the seventh movie does well! both parts since I've heard dobby comes back! but its truly sad that he has to die in his final comback! but there won't be much sympathy since there was no build up in the previous movies. keeping my fingers crossed. cause I hate having to defend the Harry Potter series every day from people who have only seen the movies!
Have your say
