Salt-Angelina-Jolie-04

Director: Phillip Noyce
Starring: Angelina Jolie, Liev Schreiber, Chiwetel Ejiofor

It’s been a while since Angelina Jolie has played the bad woman – on and off the screen. A little reminiscent of her Tomb Raider days (minus the tight outfits) Jolie is back on the big screen jumping from moving vehicles, dodging death and undoubtedly causing mayhem.

This time she’s causing trouble as a CIA agent for the USA: Evelyn Salt has sworn an oath to duty, honour and country, but when she’s accused of being a Russian spy, she goes on the run, using all her skills and experience as a covert operative. She’ll do anything to prove her innocence, but her actions raise deep questions surrounding her true identity. Just who is Salt?

It’s a high paced action thriller with a hefty dose of paranoia running through the centre of the plot: Jolie leads the story through from beginning to end with undeniably good acting and some eye-popping stunts. There are a few weak links in the chain of Salt’s story: it doesn’t quite pack the punches, but Jolie certainly kicks back at the critics.

Genre: Action | Mystery | Thriller
Age Restriction:
Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action.
