Jonah Hex

Revenge gets ugly.

Director: Jimmy Hayward
Starring: Josh Brolin, John Malkovich, Megan Fox

Jonah Hex (Brolin) is a scarred drifter and bounty hunter – a battle-hardened gunslinger who can track down anyone ... and anything. Having survived death, Jonah's violent history is steeped in myth and legend, and has left him with the ability to talk to the "other side".

But Hex’s past is about to catch up with him. Cornered by the US military, he is ordered to use his supernatural powers to track down and stop the sinister terrorist Quentin Turnbull (Malkovich), the man who killed Hex's family and mutilated his face with a branding iron.

Yet another comic book adaptation, Jonah Hex is essentially a combination of Will Smith’s ‘Wild Wild West’ and ‘Ghost Whisperer’; throw in some basic elements from Clint Eastwood’s spaghetti westerns and you should have some idea what the overly padded film is desperately trying to achieve.

If all you want is a bullets-and-bombs B-movie, you’ll get your money’s worth but only just.
