Did you know that Pakistanis are the second largest community in the UAE? Or that the number of people suffering from their recent flood disaster could exceed the combined total of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, the 2005 Kashmir earthquake and the 2010 Haiti earthquake? How about the fact that an estimated 3.5 million children are currently at risk for diarrhea, cholera, typhoid and other water-borne diseases? Shocking, isn’t it? All the more reason to support Abu Dhabi resident Alison Carmody’s fun and very worthy cause.
What?
Alison’s Trivia Olympics for Charity invites teams of Abu Dhab folk from far and wide to represent their country in probably the most important quiz night in Abu Dhabi.
Register a team of three to six people stating the country your team wishes to represent and other participant details (a country can be represented by more than one team). If it’s just yourself, you will be placed on someone else’s team. Send these details to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it by 12th September. On the day, decked out in their country’s colours, teams will partake in a battle of the brains to become trivia champions of the world.
Trivia skills not the best? Don’t fear, there are many ways to win prizes – lucky door prizes, bonus question rounds and prizes for the most creative team name will be awarded on the night. And don’t worry – questions will be relevant to a range of nationalities.
Where? Left Bank, The Souk Qaryat al Beri, Shangri-La
When? Tuesday 14th September, 6.30 to 9.30pm
Cost: The AED 60 entrance fee covers your donation to a registered charity for the cause and includes a complimentary drink.
