The last of the season’s Summer Screenings from the Abu Dhabi Film Festival and NYU Abu Dhabi Institute will be on 20th August. The two prior screenings showcased feature length films from Islamabad and Istanbul, both of which were shown during previous editions of the Abu Dhabi Film Festival, and the final film is from Cairo. Heliopolis, a unique Cairo neighbourhood, becomes a character itself while five people spend an evening obliviously crossing paths, their tales intertwining. Preceding the feature is a short film, Spring 89, which tackles issues of adolescence and puberty as well as the inner world of two different – but perhaps similar – teenage girls. The screening will take place at the NYU Abu Dhabi Downtown Campus at 7.30pm, there will be a light Iftar served at 6.50pm. Registration is essential.
