The first Heritage Film Festival to come to Abu Dhabi will show a collection of Emirati, German and Swiss films under the theme of “Homeland and Identity”. Each night between 23rd and 26th February, two short documentaries and one feature film will be screened from 7.30pm. This unique blend of Emirati and European films addresses the perception of identity and “being at home” – hoping to build a bridge between cultures and between the past and the present. Following each screening, the directors and film experts will hold a discussion where audience members will be able to ask questions. The opening night will show the shorts Being Local by Andreas Steffan (UAE-Germany) and Hopp Schwyz by Fulvio Bernasconi (Switzerland) followed by the sensational City of Life by Ali F. Mostafa (UAE). The Heritage Film Festival will take place at the Heritage Village on the Breakwater.
