TRI YAS

The inaugural TRI YAS will be the world’s first triathlon to take place on a Formula 1 circuit, at the Yas Marina Circuit, Yas Island. The entire contest takes place within the circuit area – the swim will be in the marina, the bike course is on the track and the run will take place around the outer perimeter of the circuit. In addition, the transitions will be housed in the pits and pit lane to give the full Circuit experience. First-timers and experienced athletes are all invited to take part either as individuals or in relay teams either at the full Olympic distance (1.5km swim, 40km bike ride and 10km run) or the half-length Sprint distance (750m swim, 20km bike ride and 5km run). The first wave of competitors will begin with the swim at 1pm – individual start times were due to be allocated approximately ten days before the event. Competitors must be 17 or over.
