With Liam Gallagher’s Beady Eye performing this weekend and the news that FLASH Entertainment is about to kick off its next round of Show Weekends – with none other than the pop princess Janet Jackson in October – our gaze is once again shifting towards Abu Dhabi’s surrounding islands – Yas and Saadiyat to be precise.
We’ve already been out to Saadiyat this week, exploring its natural wonders and celebrating one of its long-time residents – the hawksbill turtle. With so many new and exciting developments due to open on the island in the next month or so, including the long-awaited Monte Carlo Beach Club, we were keen to find out what TDIC has been doing to preserve the island’s habitat.
We’ve been told by our new friends at Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi – soon to open on Saadiyat – that dolphins can be spotted from the beach first thing in the morning. We don’t know about you, but we can’t wait to get out there and get spotting!
Talking of spotting, we also noticed a new shiny collection of bicycles parked at Crowne Plaza Yas Island this week when we popped out there for lunch. These bikes can now be hired from the hotel for a jaunt around the cycle paths of Yas Island and Yas Marina Circuit itself. Yes, that’s right, every Tuesday night you can pop to the Crowne Plaza, grab your wheels and give Vettel a run for his money as you pedal off a few calories whizzing around the circuit.
Well, you have to get in shape to try and keep up with the moves that Janet Jackson will be busting on stage next month, no?
Happy peddling!
