Well first of all thank you to all those who wrote in to the team here at Abu Dhabi Week after reading last week’s column. We asked you to tell us what you thought of the magazine and we were inundated with emails telling us what a great job we’re doing, but suggesting a few minor improvements.

The most obvious of which seems to be more interaction with our readers! Everyone who wrote in requested more space for reader-generated content, similar to our popular Under My Abaya column, which currently features in our lifestyle section once a month.

We’ve listened, and as well as increasing this to a weekly column online (with its own dedicated page from 2nd June) we are discussing a number columns with readers.

We’ve also decided to set up a quarterly reader’s panel so we’re inviting those interested to email us at: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

We’d like you to write a short paragraph on your favourite thing to do in Abu Dhabi – no more than 200 words – so we can get an idea of your passions and interests. The panel will eventually include (we hope) someone from every community here in this multi-cultural city.

Once we’ve selected the final few, our team of Abu Dhabi experts will be invited to meet with us here at Abu Dhabi Week HQ once every few months to discuss ideas for features, interviews, news items and reviews.

Last but by no means least, this week also sees us welcome our new columnist (and junior staff writer) Sawaiba Khan to our lifestyle pages. As a new arrival to the team, and to the city of Abu Dhabi, she’ll be writing a monthly column about her experiences and discoveries around the Emirate. This month our Girl About Town is on the hunt for a new abaya.
