Talking about Saadiyat

For quite some time Saadiyat has acted as a cut through for commuters whizzing from one end of Abu Dhabi to the other, but with the news that several hotels, a beach club and even some luxury villas are set to open their doors towards the end of this year, we’re starting to get quite excited.

OK, so Saadiyat Beach Golf Club and Manarat Al Saadiyat have been doing a great job of getting people out on to the island, but towards September and October of this year (just in time for the Etihad Airways Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix) we will see the opening of not one, but two new luxury resorts, plus an exclusive beach club.

We’re talking about St Regis Abu Dhabi and the Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi and, of course, The Monte Carlo Beach Club Abu Dhabi.

We’ve already been out to see the Park Hyatt, taking a tour with its new general manager Stuart Deeson. Although it’s still a building site at the moment, it looks amazing. With a huge landscaped pool garden, a steak house and a wonderful beachfront restaurant, just the F&B options have our mouths watering – and that’s not to mention the hotel’s beachfront spa!

Just down the road TDIC’s Saadiyat Beach show homes, Jawaher Al Saadiyat, provide a sneak glimpse of what life could be like on Saadiyat Island (if you have the AED 6m plus needed to buy one). Nonetheless, we’re convinced; if we had the cash, we’d be there in a nice three-bedroom Arabian style villa, thank you very much.

Yes, we could see ourselves lounging in our landscaped garden, before hopping along to the Monte Carlo Club for a sundowner, before a slap up steak dinner at the Park Hyatt.

Whether you live in New Abu Dhabi or on the island Saadiyat is just 10 to 15 minutes drive away. Perfect. Roll on September we say!
