A change is going to come

There’s no denying that change comes about quickly in the city. Stepping off the plane the other day from a short holiday, the sudden temperature increase hit me: summer is most definitely on its way.

Before we all go diving indoors for the hottest months, there’s plenty of continuous entertainment in Abu Dhabi to keep everyone occupied.

The launch of Fun City at Dalma Mall has been a welcome addition to families so we thought it was about time our very own mum Laura Fulton took her little monsters along to try it out.

Meanwhile over on Yas Island this weekend you’ll have the chance to witness a festival of speed at the 2nd Annual Drag Racing Festival over at the Yas Marina Circuit.

For two days on 4th and 5th March, you can feel the heat of watching a Top Fuel Dragster, at 8,000 horsepower, go from zero to over 480km/hr in less than four seconds. If that doesn’t get your heart pumping, the weekend of events includes a match race between FIA World Champion Urs Erbacher and the 2007 Top Fuel Vice Champion Rod “Hot Rod” Fuller.

Of course, it’s not all about what’s next on the social calendar. Our resident photographer has always got his lens at the ready to capture the city and its people.

Finally, there’s always plenty of change in the sports results and in the news and happenings around the capital. As always, we’ve got the latest scoops and information to keep you up to date with the city’s heartbeat.
