Get out and about

Honestly, It takes quite a lot to excite us here at Abu Dhabi Week. With so much constantly going on in the capital, we hate to admit it, but we’ve become rather used to Abu Dhabi announcing the next biggest, and best event. We’re spoilt for choice.

But despite this, we’re still ecstatic to find ourselves no longer melting while waiting for the bus; being able to see out of our sunglasses without fear of them steaming up at the wrong moment (stepping off the kerb becomes an adrenaline sport), and not having to resist the urge to jump into any one of the Corniche’s fountains for some respite from the heat. Yes, we knew the end of summer was in sight, but now it’s here, we can’t wait to get outside.

Why? Abu Dhabi comes alive during the winter. Parks fill with families, the beach becomes a hot spot, sports spring back into action and the streets teem with day (and evening) walkers, roller-bladers and cyclists. We’ve rounded up just a few ways to make the most of outdoor Abu Dhabi – turn to page 16 for our guide to enjoying the great outdoors.

We’ll be embracing the cooler season and hoping to take our seats at the open air Longitude Bar at The Yas Hotel, Yas Island with the exciting news of more music talent taking part in an intimate acoustic set for three nights – we’ve got all the details on page 9.

Finally, we’re extra excited to be able to offer one extremely lucky Abu Dhabi

Week reader the chance to win a staggering AED 1,000,000. Yes, 1,000,000.

Abu Dhabi Week has teamed up with Al Jazira for the once in a lifetime opportunity to win big in an exciting sporting competition – get involved on page 7.

We could go on … with Ferrari World days away from opening, the second round of the Abu Dhabi Fighting Championship and much more on the capital’s calendar, there’s plenty to be excited about.
