Summer slowdown? Not in Abu Dhabi!

While the majority of this last week has centred around the World Cup kicking off to plenty of tense and excited fans (there are still plenty tense and now less excited fans –hoping for connected football channels and no more interference before the 2010 is action is all over), it looks as though the next month is full enough to keep us entertained past extra time.

Lord of the Dance taps its way into the capital this week – another exciting debut to appear in Abu Dhabi – soon to be followed by an even bigger and better return for Summer in Abu Dhabi. There are also hot new arrivals on the culinary scene to be tried and tested plus the brand new Yas Driving School which surely demands a test drive or two, opening at the Yas Marina Circuit.

Summer in the UAE is always rumoured to be the quiet season; as the heat rises, people, businesses and events supposedly simmer down to a near nothing. But Abu Dhabi Week certainly isn’t feeling a slow down on the events calendar – and we’ll be making sure you’re in the know on where to go, who to see and where it’s happening in the capital over the hotter months.

And to at least to see you through the next few weeks of continued football fever, check out our World Cup Widows guide; proving maybe, just maybe, there’s plenty more to be done than shouting and cheering from the sofa.
