Summer survival

Football fever is officially here. As is the summer. And they’re two pretty unmistakable, unmissable parts of the year.

For those who happen to live in a cave and not possess a TV or care too much for going out needn’t worry:  the supposedly magnificent game hysteria that surrounds the 2010 World Cup will come and go. A mere month of unsocial husbands, fanatic brothers and sisters and random, excitable strangers sat next to you on the bus is only a case of investing in some earplugs. Summer is a little harder to fix. For one, the temperature is only set to get hotter, and it’s going to be here for a while. And if you happen to have children, you also inherit the task of finding what on earth you’re going to do with them for the duration without them driving you crazy, confined to the air-conditioned indoors.

Thankfully we’ve got both of the summer’s hot topics covered: child care in the form of fun summer camps across the capital, and all you need to know (and a little more in terms of footie trivia) to catch special events and live screenings so you know where to be (or where to avoid) in an extra special pull-out-and-keep guide. Aren’t we good to you? Enjoy!

Have your say
