Mohammed OBAID has extra reason to celebrate the start of the Holy Month of Ramadan – the eight-year Abu Dhabi resident has taken the keys of a brand-new Ford Expedition after winning a prize draw on the last day of Summer in Abu Dhabi, the month-long family festival at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC)

Obaid, a sales manager for an Abu Dhabi-based freight company, visited Summer in Abu Dhabi in June.
“This is the first competition I have ever won in my life,” said Mohammed. “I was so surprised when I got the phone call saying I had won a jeep. I filled out the ticket and hoped, but I never expected to win. This is totally out of the blue. I’m really looking forward to getting it out into the dunes in Abu Dhabi.”
The Ford Expedition give-away was the result of a Summer in Abu Dhabi partnership between Premier Motors, the dealer for Ford and Lincoln vehicles in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, and Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi), the festival organiser.
