Paris Sorbonne Abu Dhabi offers new Masters Programmes

27 percent student enrolment increase this year

The Paris Sorbonne Abu Dhabi (PSUAD) Board held its periodical meeting last week in the presence of HE Dr Mugheer Khamis Al-Khaili, board member & director general of Abu Dhabi Education Council, Dr George Molinet, board chairman and a number of senior University staff & board members.

During the meeting, a number of topics related to the latest developments at PSUAD consistent with Abu Dhabi developmental plans were discussed. The ADEC higher education strategic plan, which is designed to ensure alignment between higher education outcomes and Abu Dhabi’s socio-economic needs to help Abu Dhabi become an educational, cultural and scientific hub and lay the foundation for innovation & creating a knowledge-based economy, was also discussed.

Other topics included the means of attracting international students, developing PSUAD workforce capabilities and training a number of national students and qualifying them for becoming future PSUAD leaders and educators.

Other topics such as newly appointed PSUAD faculty members, the establishment of sports center, introducing new Master programs in areas of Money & Banking and Human Resources Management, as well as offering new disciplines in Theatre Management, French Language & Culture and Professional Licensing in Tourism, were also discussed by the PSUAD Board.

Data analysis of the increasing number of students in PSUAD which grew at a rate of 27 percent compared to last year, bringing the number of students in the current academic year 2011/2012 to approximately 765 students, was also presented during the meeting. This reflects the big turnout of national as well as expat students to study different disciplines through the various educational programs offered by PSUAD, in accordance with ADEC’s HE strategy and in line with Abu Dhabi Vision 2030 which focuses on providing students with skills needed for 21st century global market.
