The Red Crescent Authority is on its way back to the Philippines, in order to provide more life-saving relief to the region, six months after the devastating Typhoon Haiyan made landfall.

The third Red Crescent Authority (RCA) relief team to the country is focused on assisting victims living in the hardest hit areas of the region.

The RCA delegation will work with local authorities to help assess the needs of those affected, focusing on residents who’ve had their homes and property damaged from the cataclysmic winds and torrential storm surges.

The directive comes in line with the President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s allocation of $10 million to assist the tens of thousands of victims of the super typhoon last November.

Chairman of the RCA and ruler’s representative in the Western Region, HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, commented on the President’s donation by stating this “reflects the UAE’s commitment to helping the victims of natural calamities even after the disaster to alleviate the suffering of people.”
