It boasts the world’s longest suspended roller-coaster and largest artificial ‘sheet’ wave for surfers, and now Yas Waterworld can boast another world record – the world’s largest swimming lesson.

The lesson, which took place on 18th June, featured a pool full of 777 swimmers, which broke the previous Guinness World Record of 611 swimmers, which was set in 2011 at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon in Orlando, Florida.

The record-making event delighted park general manager Mike Oswald.

“Our vision was to create a dynamic family-friendly entertainment venue that is as exciting as it is inclusive,” said Oswald. “Breaking the Guinness World Record for the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson is testament to how that vision has been, and will continue to be realised.”
