Dune and driver both got a bashing when Top Gear host Richard Hammond visited Abu Dhabi.
The popular and quirky motoring television programme recently debuted driving segments shot in the UAE for the show’s twenty-first season.
Clips filmed in the Emirates featured a Porsche 918 and Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6X6 and will debut in the Middle East next week. Other segments are to follow.
Hammond certainly did have his hands full, when taking the six wheeler Mercedes for a wade in the Yadi Yas at Yas Waterworld. The one-metre water filled river turned track, saw the massive merc dodge tubers and guests enjoying a day out at the waterpark.
Filming also took place at key landmarks in the country, including Liwa Oasis, Yas Marina Circuit and Emirates Palace.
Abu Dhabi film and television services provider, twofour54 intaj, supported the British Broadcasting Corporation by producing the segments filmed in the UAE.
“This is the latest large-scale production to film in Abu Dhabi and adds to the Emirate’s growing reputation as an international television and film production hub,” said Noura Al Kaabi, Chief Executive Officer of twofour54.
