The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 (TBA) – Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Julianne Moore, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Stanley Tucci

The Hunger Games phenomenon is back again. The third instalment of the popular movie saga, which is inspired by trilogy of novels by Suzanne Collins, actually covers only the first half of the last book –

but there’s plenty of the sci-fi drama that fans have come to love.

The story continues after Katniss Everdeen (Lawrence) escapes from the third Quarter Quell as a symbol of hope for the Panem nation, having shattered the games forever. After returning to District 13, she must fight to save Peeta (Hutcherson) while being led by President Coin (Moore).

Once again, Katniss is thrusted into the limelight as a reluctant hero for a nation that is moved by her courage while she fights to come to terms with what’s happening to her home.

The film was one of Hoffman’s last, as he again took up the role of Plutarch Heavensbee, one of the leaders of the rebellion in District 13. The late actor’s character is one of the most important in the film, as he shows his true colours as a political figure who isn’t as dishonest as people may think.

The Hunger Gamges: Mockingjay Part 1 hits cinemas Thursday 20th November.
