Visitors to the carnival will first enter through a specially prepared atrium, created on a fantasy garden theme where all is not what it seems. A trapeze set sprouts out of the ground spiralling to a height of some 12 metres; a tree-house disguises an exciting freefall skydive simulation surrounded by oversized flowers and roving entertainers ... Move on through and taste the excitement of Summer in Abu Dhabi’s Islands.

This year, inspired by the fact that Abu Dhabi boasts some 200 natural islands, the event’s organisers at the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority have opted to create five unique island areas, each with its own theme, to spread the wealth of fun and facts through an array of activities which will appeal to all age groups.

Adventure Island

Step out of your comfort zone and into the challenge zone! A range of activities are available (up to eight metres in the air!) including abseiling, rock climbing, zip lines and 17 different challenges on the rope course. Take the ride of your life by embarking on a jungle expedition filled with runaway trains, shooting ranges, river boat rides and skill games!

Science & Technology Island

Science and Technology come together in this section, resulting in a breathtaking and mind-bending array of lights and sounds! Rock to the live performance of the electrified Tesla Coil, discover the secrets of illusion, make your dream toy from scratch or programme robots to do battle ... plus shows Magic: The Science of Illusion, Technology in Music: Arc Attack and Technology @ Play: Lego Mindstorms & Toy Tech

Culture & Heritage Island

Embark on a journey of discovery and be transported back to a time of ceremony and tradition: celebrate the rich history of the United Arab Emirates at the Emirati Village through music and dance performances, workshops and competitions. Uncover the diverse cultural heritage of Native Americans, Australian Aborigines and South African Zulus through personal interaction with them in their ‘natural’ habitats and a series of cultural performances and hands-on activities.

Sports Island

Game on! Do battle in Gladiator, bowl a strike in Zorbowl, stick to the wall with Splat, hang ten on the Wake Board, jump head-over-heels on the Euro Bungee and hit the bullseye in archery! So warm up, stretch out and dive right in ...

Entertainment Island

Carnival rides, game stalls, and entertainment galore await children of all ages in Entertainment Island. Immerse yourself in three movie environments – the 4D Cinema, UV Groovy Puppet Theatre and Interactive Adventure Cinema – where viewing is but one small part of a total voyage through experience.
