Talented Abu Dhabi-based performer Craig Perry has made it to the final stages of a prestigious Middle East-wide singer-songwriter competition.

Out of more than 2,000 submissions the 29-year-old’s song was selected to go through to the online voting stages of the ‘Street to Stage’ competition, which is being run by Rolling Stone Middle East, along with 14 other entries from across the region.

So far Perry, who works in marketing for ADNEC during the day, has written and recorded songs ‘Lose Ourselves’, ‘Stop’ and ‘Mrs Stevenson’, all of which can be seen online on: www.facebook.com/CraigPerryMusic.

“‘Lose Ourselves’ is a love story that I wrote recently,” Perry said. “It has a simple melody and is about taking the leap in to a new relationship.”

‘Stop’ was recorded on top of the Hyatt Capital Gate hotel. “I was filmed singing on the Capital Gate helipad in 35 degree heat, looking out over the city – that was some experience.

“Even being in this competition is amazing but it would be fantastic to win for a sense of personal achievement. My parents plan to fly over from England if I make it to the final in Dubai.”

The three finalists will perform live on stage in the Hard Rock Café Dubai on Friday 20th September. To vote for Perry visit: rollingstoneme.com/sts/
