As part for Abu Dhabi Festival’s community programme this month, visitors to Khalifa Park are being treated with a new collection of tantalising tales and illustrations of age-old Emirati characters, creatively re-imagined through the eyes of Zayed University Students.

Open to the public until 31st March, visitors can discover Umm Al Duwais, Nagat El Eid, Abu Al Salasel and many other magical monsters and mythical creatures for the whole family to enjoy.

HE Hoda I. Al Khamis-Kanoo, founder of the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF) and the Abu Dhabi Festival said: “Through ‘The Story Mile’, we invite people of all ages to discover, learn and enjoy a unique aspect of UAE cultural heritage – the deeply traditional stories gifted to us by our forefathers. Told through the eyes of the next generation of guardians, young people, we are delighted to unveil a new collection of tales and illustrations which are designed to teach us all life lessons as well as messages about morality and safety.”

Written and designed by Zayed University students, including members of its Al Kharareef Storytelling Club, a total of 50 storyboards adorn Khalifa Park’s UAE booth at Six Continents.

Each year, Abu Dhabi Festival’s community programme celebrates ‘Bilad Al Khayr’ – ‘The Land of Blessings’. Through this, AMDAF continuously seeks new and exciting ways of enabling people from across UAE society to unite and access arts and culture.
