Once we’ve started to shift excess weight, the problem a lot of us have is that unless we work on building and toning muscle, everything stays wobbly!
Not so for the ladies who take part in the new Body Sculpt class at Abu Dhabi Golf Club each Thursday morning and Sunday afternoon. With a little help from the charming Izzy – the health club’s new manager – they are blasting those bingo wings, toning those thighs and bums, and having lots of fun to boot.
We arrive early on a Thursday morning to find one of the last spots at the back of the studio. Weights selected and towel in hand, we’re ready to see what all the fuss is about.
We start with a fairly vigorous warm up then move into some simple, but tough routines with the weighted barbell. It’s left entirely up to you throughout the class how far you push yourself, and how much weight you carry, but Izzy is quick to encourage you if you’re taking the easy way out!Working our core muscles and legs, we do a series of squats and lunges, followed by some more arm and ab work on the floor, before moving into a final (super fun) cardio section.
For those who want to tone up, increase overall strength and shake up their normal cardio routine this is the perfect workout.DETAILS
