THE great outdoors is about to get ‘greater’ for the residents of the capital, after plans to upgrade the city’s Khalifa Park were unveiled.

The park, situated close to the twofour54 media complex, is set to be enhanced by a huge financial investment, adding large-scale rides, world-class acts, parades and more to its already impressive facilities.

The development, along with other investment opportunities were announced this month by the Abu Dhabi Municipality, with the new installations and attractions set for completion in October this year.

Another key attraction will be the circus, with regular shows being a major part of the parks daily schedule. The circus will offer the best in shows, displays and spectacular acts from countries across the world.

The municipality is inviting private sector investors to finance and develop the park. With the venue planning to attract more than 1.5 million people over its six-month opening period, the municipality believes this is an attractive incentive to invest in the permanent family destination.

Open from October 2014 through to March 2015, investors will be able to play an active role in developing the landmark’s exciting features by bringing their expertise and international standards to the development.
