Happy Birthday to us!

happybirthday04

Thank you Abu Dhabi – we’re five years old this week!

You are reading the largest issue we’ve ever published of Abu Dhabi Week which
co-incidentally is also our fifth anniversary.

The magazine, written off at launch by fellow publishers in Dubai as a media folly (citing nothing ever happened in the capital so we’d have nothing to write about!) was created in the hope that in time we’d become the capital’s community publication – one that supported important causes, one that informed, educated and gave notice of significant events and one that in time would become valued by all members of the community irrespective of age, income or nationality.

Abu Dhabi Week has grown at the same pace as the capital and is now not only the largest magazine in the Emirate but also by audited circulation the largest magazine in the country and third largest overall in the Middle East, our proven circulation beaten only by two daily newspapers (one of which is in Saudi Arabia).

Via over 180 distribution stands issue for issue we distribute more copies in the capital than the combined Abu Dhabi circulations of every other major publication and for that we thank you, our loyal readers.

Every week we receive literally hundreds of reader pictures entering our ‘Around The World’ section and the fact that the good citizens of the capital remember to take their personal copy on vacation, take a picture and then send it to us leaves us amazed and humbled – the magazine has so far appeared in over 80 countries, under the waves of six seas, at both the North and South pole, at numerous weddings and family gatherings and even at the top of the world’s tallest flagpole – quite amazing.

Thank you for reading the magazine, thank you for sending us your emails and pictures and thank you for making our little idea a big success.
