Zayed Sports City has more than football pitches, netball courts and a bowling alley. Nestled away in the tennis stadium is the bar and restaurant The Clubhouse. We stopped by for a relaxed meal to see just why this family friendly venue has such a growing fan base.
Walking into the spacious environment, we were greeted with the gentle sound of people chatting, sports games on plasma screens and a much appreciated smoke-free surrounding. Seated with our guest, we began to peruse the vast menu and instantly found several starters and mains that grabbed our fancy. Fortunately we had the help of manager Andreea Mironescu to help us pick a variety of starters to sample. We made light work of the selection of barbeque chicken wings, fried calamari and chunky tempura prawns. Conversation was flowing as we nibbled the scrumptious selection in front of us; the screens also allowed great viewing but not to the point of complete distraction!
Main courses swiftly followed, piping hot, hearty and well presented. Our guest had an impressive rib-eye steak and fresh salad to tuck in to, and we had the special of the day – tuna steak with fresh salad and a butter sauce. Both were filling, tender and juicy. Exactly what we wanted from this course.
Giving our tummies a well-deserved rest, Mironescu explained just how The Clubhouse caters for all.
“It’s great to see more and more people coming here,” said Mironescu. “Families, friends, sports teams and birthday parties are all welcome! With comedy nights, special brunches and kids play areas we feel like we can accommodate everyone,” said Mitonescu.
Still feeling rather full, we decided to leave dessert. However, there were plenty of options for all diners from the cake of the day to the candy
shop sundae.
The Clubhouse is a great environment for everyone. The prices also mean that your wallet will feel just as happy as you will when you leave.
