Fun runners tackle autism in the capital

A recent charity marathon has provided a helping hand to children with autism in the capital. Proceeds of the fun run hosted by Etihad Airways were donated to the Abu Dhabi Centre for Autism.

Held last month as part of the airline’s ten-year anniversary celebrations, donations from the marathon were used to fund a special vocational arts and crafts workshop for the centre. Aimed at further developing the children’s abilities and providing them with technical skills, Etihad Airways also donated a number of iPads to be used as teaching aids for children with high functioning autism.

In addition, Etihad also extended another helping hand to the community, this time to help out frustrated travellers during the busy summer season, as the airline also announced it has upped its baggage allowance.

The expanding check-in options in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Dubai this summer include an additional 5kg baggage allowance. With check-in locations located at the Etihad Airways’ Abu Dhabi City Terminal and Al Ain Airport, guests can drop their items off 24 hours before flying for a stress-free trip.
