ADM sponsors 18th Arab Fencing Championship

The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City will be part of the organisation of the 18th Arab Fencing Championship (Cadet) starting today at the Petroleum Institute Abu Dhabi Sports Hall, running until 27th October

The Championship is held under the Patronage of HH Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, national security advisor and chairman of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.

Commenting on the event, Dr. Badriyah Al Dhahiri, director of Community Services, Municipality of Abu Dhabi City, said, “The involvement of the Municipality in staging this championship as official sponsor comes in the context of its strategy aimed at delivering best-in-class, customer-oriented and effective municipal services through active participation in all community-related and key events.

“Offering logistical support to the Championship also aims to activate the role of the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City (Community Services Division) in engaging & interacting with all segments of the community with a view to forging solid relations, cooperation and integration with key strategic partners of the Municipality; which echoes & meets the public aspirations to intensifying and lending support to various recreational, sports and cultural activities.

“The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City plays a prime role in supporting key events and contributing to the successes of these sports & communal gatherings out of its full commitment to portrait an imposing picture for Abu Dhabi Emirate, particularly noting that the Championship will be attended by more than 400 athletes from various Arab countries. The Championship promises to be a high-weight sport gathering; which prompts us to do our level best to present this sport event in a superb style befitting the standing of Abu Dhabi Emirate and the entire UAE. We will also be seeking to capitalize on this huge sport gathering to showcase the facilities & services offered to visitors of metropolitan parks,” she added.

The 18th Arab Fencing Championship is free for the public to attend and the event should be signposted as you get close to the Petroleum Institute. The competitors practice in the mornings and the Championship takes place in the afternoons from 2pm. The championship runs until Thursday 27th October.
