With a consistent speed of 300.20mph, Hot Rod Fuller and the Yas Marina Circuit Top Fuel Drag Team held a place in the Top 8 after all three qualifying rounds of the NHRA Arizona Nationals in Phoenix over the weekend
All signs were looking good for the team going into the elimination rounds on Sunday, with Fuller having defeated his Round 1 challenger, Shawn Langdon, 3-0 throughout the season.
Langdon pulled out all stops in the first round eliminator, recording his fastest pass of the weekend and knocking out the Yas team by just 0.0112 Seconds.
Having taken home the NHRA Arizona Nationals Top Fuel championship twice in his career, in 2006 and 2007, Fuller was hoping for a better result, he commented: “We were fast, we hovered just under the 300mph hour mark and were in the lead for most of the pass, but started to drop cylinders and just missed out on the win.”
“We are looking forward to Las Vegas now, we will concentrate on getting the car in fighting shape, and we can hopefully pull it together for the final round of our US tour.”
The NHRA Las Vegas Nationals, from 27th-30th October will conclude the Yas Marina Circuit Top Fuel Drag team’s ten-race tour in the US.![Add Comment](/components/com_jomcomment/templates/default/images/comment_add.gif)
